Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Speech Therapy Assistant / Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will support licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering high-quality speech therapy services to children and students across various settings, including schools, clinics, remote and early intervention programs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners by assisting with assessments, therapy sessions, and progress monitoring. Responsibilities Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in implementing individualized treatment plans for children and students. Support therapy sessions by preparing materials, setting up equipment, and facilitating activities tailored to each child's needs. Monitor and document client progress, recording observations and outcomes accurately for review. Collaborate with educators, caregivers, and medical professionals to ensure consistency in therapy goals across settings. Support early intervention initiatives by engaging with children in developmental activities aligned with their Individualized Education Program (IEP). Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment that promotes effective learning and communication. Skills Strong experience working with children and students in educational or clinical settings. Knowledge of pediatrics, early intervention strategies, and developmental milestones. Familiarity with speech therapy techniques, physiology, anatomy related to speech production, and medical terminology. Ability to work effectively within acute care environments or school-based programs. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging with young clients. Understanding of IEP processes and experience supporting students' individualized goals. Compassionate approach combined with energetic enthusiasm to motivate children during therapy activities.
