In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive eye care services, including vision assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans. Your expertise will help improve patients' quality of life by ensuring optimal eye health and vision correction. You will work closely with patients of all ages, delivering exceptional patient care while utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and electronic health record (EHR) systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Duties Conduct thorough eye examinations, including visual acuity tests and refraction assessments to determine the best corrective lenses for patients Diagnose and manage ocular conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and other ophthalmology-related issues Prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and medications in accordance with medical standards and patient needs Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of corrective devices Perform vital signs assessments and utilize aseptic techniques during examinations to ensure patient safety Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals for complex cases requiring specialized intervention Requirements Valid state licensure as an Optometrist with current certification to practice medicine in the designated area Familiarity with medical coding practices related to eye care procedures and treatments Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems to document patient encounters accurately Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information New Grads encouraged to apply!
