Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor/Operations Manager the Operator is a very hands-on-role - primarily operating vibrating screens, magnetic separators, drier, bagging of product (robot and manual stacking of bulk bags and 55lbs/25kg bags), warehousing, logistics, truck loading and some minor maintenance.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
|OPERATIONS
Actively participate in processes directed at delivering HSEQ, production and maintenance goals. Reporting incidents and areas of concern/workplace hazards in accordance with on-site reporting procedures. Maintaining high standards of housekeeping in work areas. Performing pre-start inspections and reporting defects on mobile plant and equipment. Operating mobile plant and equipment in accordance with GMA processes. Completing other tasks within training and capability as directed. Assist with maintenance and adjustments as directed. Prepare reports, forms, records, and related paperwork as required. Promptly report any accidents, incidents, or potential hazards to senior management. Report immediately to the Shift Supervisor any problems with product quality, safety concerns, or equipment that may affect the quality or productivity of GMA's operations. Interact with other employees in a polite, cooperative, courteous, and productive manner. • Present a positive and attentive image for GMA. |OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT 1
Comply with GMA safety, health and environmental requirements including all issued policies, rules, procedures, guidelines, and notices. Wear PPE as required for the task and area in which you are working. Use GMA safety management systems, including the relevant tools and documentation, such as Take 5, Safe Operating Procedure (SOP) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) to meet GMA's expectations. Ensure timely reporting of health, safety, and environmental incidents in line with the GMA reporting procedure. Participate in any safety related initiatives including pre-start meetings and Safety Toolbox talks. Participate in incident investigations when required. Responsible for observing and following all environmental Best Management Practices (BMPs) relating to stormwater management. Follow waste management guidelines according to GMA requirements, including recycling wherever possible.RELATIONSHIPS

|RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Understanding of/ experience with industrial safety regulations.SKILLS AND SELECTION CRITERIA

Sit down forklift experience and the ability to pass GMA's forklift verification of competency evaluation Be proficient in the utilization of lockout/tag out Comfortable with the use of basic tools for maintenance • Sound communication capabilities Punctual, meticulous, and reliable Ability to work alone or in a team settingWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
|Environment:
Processing plant environment; exposure to noise, dust, grease, electrical energy, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; work with/ in proximity to mobile plant such as forklifts and front-end loaders, tight and confined spaces; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces, including slippery or uneven surfaces.Physical:
Sufficient physical ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting up to 55lbs; standing and walking for prolonged periods of time; climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and operating motorized equipment.Vision:
See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens, printed documents, and signage and to safely operate equipment.Hearing:
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
