We are a patient-focused orthodontic practice dedicated to providing exceptional care in a welcoming environment. Our team values professionalism, compassion and teamwork, and we are seeking a highly motivated Financial Coordinator to join us.Position Overview:
The Financial Coordinator manages the financial lifecycle of patient accounts, bridging the gap between patient treatment costs and practice revenue. Key duties include presenting treatment plan fees, verifying insurance, setting up payment contracts, and managing collections. This role requires strong communication skills to discuss, with confidence, financial arrangements. The ideal candidate should have the ability to build trust while guiding patients through their treatment plan and corresponding financial arrangements. Key Responsibilities Discuss financial options with patients, including orthodontic treatment costs, payment plans, insurance coverage, and financing solutions Manage patient billing processes, apply payments, monitor account balances, and communicate with patients to resolve billing concerns and collect outstanding balances Provide clear, compassionate financial guidance to patients and families, helping them understand their treatment costs and financial responsibilities Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records, agreements, and insurance documentation within the practice management software Assist with scheduling financial consultations and preparing treatment cost breakdowns for upcoming appointments Communicate and collaborate with the clinical and front office teams to support smooth patient experiences and financial coordination Help identify and implement improvements to financial workflows, billing systems, and patient communication Support front desk operations when needed, including answering phones, assisting with check-in/check-out, and appointment reminders Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education to stay informed of billing regulations Performs other job-related duties as assigned, including contributing to evolving team and business needs in support of organizational goals Qualifications Previous experience in a dental office required (3+ yrs of financial coordinating experience strongly preferred). Familiarity with dental terminology, insurance and treatment planning. Highly organized with attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and team members. Proficiency in dental practice management software, including scheduling software and electronic health records (EHR) systems. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and patient care is highly valued. Positive, team-oriented attitude.
