Overview We're looking for a passionate and reliable Outdoor Grounds and Landscaping Specialist to join our team. In this role, this individual will create, maintain and preserve the beauty of the outdoor setting and the grounds, through appropriate horticulture and landscape architecture, by maintaining a high level of grounds maintenance and by keeping all grounds equipment in a proper state of repair and maintenance. Responsibilities Install and maintain all flower and shrubbery beds in a clean and attractive manner Keep beds in a neat and clean condition Water as necessary Mulching Edging Shrubbery pruning and trimming Replace shrubs as necessary Assist in the installation of new shrubbery and planting areas Spray shrubbery and trees for insects and diseases Installation of exterior seasonal lighting and displays Maintain lawns in a clean, neat and attractive manner Supervise lawn mowing, trimming and weed-eating Edging Leveling and seeding as necessary Preparation and seeding of new lawn areas Spraying and fertilizing of lawns in spring and fall General maintenance on grounds equipment First level maintenance on grounds equipment Minor repairs as needed General assistance to Maintenance Director Be available to assist with on-call duties Coordinate snow removal activities Assist with preventive maintenance functions Be available for emergencies Assist with general maintenance functions during winter season Maintain underground pipe and lifts that convey spring water from Irishtown Road to lake at miniature golf course. Check aqueduct system once per quarter Keep shop area clean and organized. Includes rear of shop and storage area at old outdoor pool. Qualifications Self starter - ability to organize and perform a list of maintenance duties in an efficient way without constant supervision. Prior experience with lawn care, landscape maintenance, or gardening is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, irrigation systems, and landscaping equipment. Familiarity with tree care practices such as trimming and pruning. Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently; experience with excavators or construction equipment is a plus. Be able to operate mowers and weed eaters. Knowledge of horticulture principles to support healthy plant growth. Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety standards in outdoor environments. Basic understanding of maintenance with grounds equipment, plumbing, electric and carpentry work. Weekend on call as needed. Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.
