Painter - Oil Field Equipment Req #1042 Cibolo, TX, 124 Industrial Drive, Cibolo, Texas, United States of America Apply Share Job Description Posted Monday, May 11, 2026 at 2:00 AM Operate or tend painting machines to paint surfaces of transportation equipment, such as oilfield equipment, including vehicles, frac units, nitrogen units, blenders, etc.
Responsibilities :
Dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with environmental laws. Select paint according to company requirements, and match colors of paint following specified color charts. Mix paints to match color specifications or vehicles' original colors, then stir and thin the paints, using spatulas or power mixing equipment. Remove grease, dirt, paint and rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blow torches, washing tanks or sand blasters. Pour paint into spray guns and adjust nozzles and paint mixes in order to get the proper paint flow and coating thickness. Monitor painting operations in order to identify flaws such as blisters and streaks so that their causes can be corrected. Sand vehicle surfaces between coats of paint/primer in order to remove flaws and enhance adhesion for subsequent coats. Disassemble, clean and reassemble sprayers and power equipment, using solvents, wire brushes and cloths for cleaning duties. Spray prepared surfaces with specified amounts of primers and decorative or finish coatings. Restore retro equipment to original paint finish. Remove accessories from vehicles, such as chrome or mirrors, and mask other surfaces with tape or paper in order to protect them from paint. Performs other related duties as required
Other Requirements :
High school diploma preferred but not required. Painting and body work experience preferred, but not required. Must stay in position at least one year before promoting to Painter II. On the job training provided. Multi-tasking skills needed. Sensitive to confidential information. Must work independently and as a member of a team.
Mental and Physical Requirements :
Able to read, speak and write English. Able to work under stressful conditions at times. Strong work ethics of integrity and honesty striving for excellence in all activities employing accompanying communication. Dependability, reliability, fulfilling responsibilities. Strong physical and mental health to maintain demanding workload. Climbing - able to go up and around equipment. Position will consistently dictate 40-60 hours per week with frequent overtime demands based on the workload requirements. Working with some pollutants, paints, solvents, cleaners and other odors. Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats when needed. Required to meet assembly equipment production schedules for weekly quota deadlines. Initiative - job requires a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges. Cooperation - job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude. Job requires being open to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace. Job requires persistence in the face of obstacles. Reliable transportation to and from work.
