Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students at the elementary level. Two dedicated paraprofessionals are needed for the upcoming school year to work in a dynamic, inclusive environment with a welcoming team. The assignment runs from early August through late May, offering consistent weekly hours with most Fridays off—approximately 15 Fridays are worked throughout the year. Your role centers on providing individualized and group support for students in PreK through 6th grade. You'll spend the day in a resource classroom and accompany students in general education settings as needed. The caseload includes diverse learners with other health impairments, autism, learning and hearing disabilities, and some severe or profound needs. Direct toileting care is not part of the position.
Key Qualifications:
High school diploma (required) Valid Oklahoma Paraprofessional Certificate Experience working with elementary-age children, particularly those with special needs Compassion, reliability, and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team Adaptability and strong communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist lead teachers and specialized staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Provide academic, behavioral, and social support as students transition between resource and general education classes Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere Help manage classroom routines and provide targeted assistance during lessons and activities Support the academic and social development of all assigned students This contract offers the chance to truly make a difference in the lives of young learners, work closely with a responsive and supportive staff, and enjoy a work-life balance rarely seen in school settings.
