Job Description

The Paralegal will provide support to the New York House Counsel team to assist with all aspects of New York PIP litigation and arbitrations. The position requires a candidate with a strong attention to detail, experience in New York PIP litigation and the ability to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities Draft PIP pleadings:
including discovery demands, responses, motions, subpoenas, and EBT/EUO notices Prepare PIP arbitration submissions and supplemental submissions Review/prepare NOI and jury demands Perform legal research on all aspects of PIP litigation/ADR. Assist attorney(s) in preparing materials for trial. Upload documents to AAA platform and file documents electronically via NYSCEF Diary deadline dates, appearances, dates, etc. Address client and/or claim inquiries and concerns Perform basic fee schedule calculations pursuant to NYS Worker's Compensation Fee Schedule Experience with declaratory judgment actions in NY is a plus Input and maintain information into case management system and ensure data integrity Execute tactics to ensure workforce efficiency and adherence to schedules Ability to perform the above duties independently and with minimal supervision Handle special projects as they arise Initiate and foster teamwork within the team to create and maintain an environment of partnership, quality service and superior organizational and analytical skills Qualifications College degree and/or Paralegal certificate preferred Must have relevant legal and practical experience and knowledge of NY PIP litigation and arbitration procedures Must have strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Must be proficient with computer (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and phone skills Knowledge of Team Connect Case Management System a plus The Applicant should be able to multi-task and prioritize work efficiently Perks and Benefits 4 weeks accrued paid time off + 9 paid national holidays per year Tuition Reimbursement Low cost and excellent coverage health insurance options (medical, dental, vision) Robust health and wellness program and fitness reimbursements Auto and home insurance discounts Matching gift opportunities Annual 401(k) Employer Contribution (up to 7.5% of your base salary) Company sponsored social events Various Paid Family leave options including
Paid Parental Leave Salary Range:
$68,000 - $91,000 a year. Actual compensation will vary based on multiple factors, including employee knowledge and experience, role scope, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
