Job Description

This Paramedic position is located in Deer Lodge, Montana at the Deer Lodge Medical Center . As a Gold Certified member of the Planetree Network, DLMC achieves excellence in person-centered care by prioritizing the active participation of patients and their families throughout the healthcare process with an emphasis on partnership, compassion, transparency, inclusion, and quality.
We currently are hiring:
One (1) full time Night shift position from 7PM to 7AM to work 3 - 12-hour shifts each week. Yearly education reimbursement. Come join our great EMS team! POSITION SUMMARY
The Paramedic is responsible for providing medical assistance to patients upon scene arrival and en route to the hospital while working with another EMT or a paramedic. Responsibilities also include assisting with patient care in the Emergency Department and inpatient/TCU unit which include but are not limited to the essential duties and responsibilities listed below.
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education and Experience:

Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
  • Efficient computer capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to be flexible as the position requires
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to fluctuating job duties
Required Credentials:
  • Current BLS or CPR for Healthcare Providers certification
  • Current ACLS and PALS certification
  • EMT-P (requires 1000 hours of training)
Preferred:
  • National Registry of Emergency Technicians (NREMT) preferred
  • Previous Paramedic experience in rural community preferred
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide exceptional service and care to all patients, customers and team members. 2. Help to resuscitate patients in an emergency before hospital admission 3. Provide medical assistance during emergency situations, such as CPR, AED, prevent shock, control severe bleeding, prevent spinal damage, etc. 4. Administer intravenous medications, drips, and oxygen (only EMT-P) 5. Perform endotracheal intubations (only EMT-P) 6. Evaluate a patient's condition to determine the right course of treatment 7. Monitor patient's condition and keep it stable while en route to the hospital 8. Aid in the transfer of patients to the emergency units of hospitals 9. Help to calm down the family members of the victim and the public on scene 10. Create a patient care report and take notes of the medical treatment given to the patient 11. Keep the equipment clean after use; check and replace damaged and used supplies 12. Decontaminate the interior of the ambulance if used to transport a patient suffering from a contagious disease 13. Assist with patient care and other needs as directed by the charge nurse for the Emergency Department and inpatient unit 14. Assist with restocking supplies in the Emergency Department and Inpatient areas 15. Assist with the preparation of a variety of reports and documents 16. Attend meetings as requested by administration 17. Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. 18. Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes 19. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed 20. Perform other related duties as assigned
