Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a role where your passion for education and commitment to student support truly make a difference. This full-time contract opportunity, located near Edison, NJ, will have you engaged onsite within a dynamic middle school environment. You'll play a crucial part in the Emotional Regulation Impairment (ERI) program, working directly with students who need positive, consistent support to thrive in their academic and personal development.
Key Qualifications:
Experience as a Paraprofessional, Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), or in a similar supportive educational role Capacity to work effectively with middle school students exhibiting challenging or maladaptive behaviors Knowledge of best practices in providing instructional and behavioral support Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate closely with teachers and other team members Patience, flexibility, and empathy when interacting with students Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive classroom atmosphere
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 assistance to students requiring behavioral and academic support Partner with educators to support classroom management and instructional delivery Help implement strategies for emotional regulation and behavioral improvement Document observations, track student progress, and communicate insights to educators and related staff Support daily classroom routines and actively participate in program activities Offer encouragement and positive reinforcement to promote student growth You'll have the chance to make a meaningful impact every day, building trusting relationships and serving as a vital member of a student-centered team. The schedule is full-time, with 30-31 hours per week through June 2026, so you'll enjoy consistency as you shape young lives.
