Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional/Teaching Aide to join our vibrant educational team. In this role, you will work closely with classroom teachers to support student learning, behavior management, and daily classroom activities. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help create an engaging, inclusive environment where all children can thrive. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' educational journeys while gaining valuable experience in early childhood and special education settings. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities aligned with curriculum standards. Support students with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, or other learning challenges, ensuring they receive personalized attention. Use effective behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior and classroom harmony. Facilitate communication using American Sign Language (ASL) or other augmentative methods when appropriate to support students' communication needs. Help supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and transitions to ensure safety and engagement. Assist with curriculum development tailored to individual IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals and classroom objectives. Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment conducive to learning and development for children of various ages, including preschool and toddler care. Requirements Prior experience working with children in early childhood education, preschool, or special education settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management strategies. Familiarity with teaching methods for literacy education, math, and curriculum planning. Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including autism or developmental delays. Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, teachers, and team members; proficiency in American Sign Language is a plus. Demonstrated skills in behavior management and creating inclusive learning environments. Relevant certifications or coursework in early childhood education or special education are advantageous.
