Job Description

We are looking for a Parent Educator who shares this belief and is passionate about working with families to help them thrive. The ideal candidate will have experience working with families in a social service, educational, or home setting and will have a deep understanding of the challenges and barriers that families face. They will be skilled in developing and implementing home visitation early childhood activities and will have a proven track record of success in working with families to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals. The Parent Educator will be responsible for coordinating home visits and implementing the Nurturing Parenting curriculum on those visits. The Nurturing Parenting Programs are trauma informed, family-based programs designed for the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. As a family, parents and their children learn positive and caring nurturing skills. They will also be responsible for building relationships with families, connecting them with resources, and providing support and guidance. Duties & Responsibilities Develop and maintain relationships with families, caregivers, and community members Plan and facilitate family events and group sessions Collaborate with community partners to develop and implement programs and services that address the needs families Serve as a resource to families on issues related to child development, education, health, and well-being Collect data and feedback from families to inform programmatic decisions and improve family engagement initiatives Stay abreast of developments in the field of family engagement and apply new knowledge to improve program effectiveness Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills and Qualifications High school diploma with two years of related work experience or Associate's degree in education, social work, human services, or related field Must pass state background check and must pass and adhere to random drug tests Successful completion of Nurturing Parenting Program training Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility and adaptability Strong knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Preferred Skills and Qualifications 2+ years of experience working with children in an early education setting Bilingual (Spanish/English) Experience working with low-income families Cultural competence and sensitivity
Pay:
$35,854.00 - $42,000.00 per year
