3:00 PM•8:00 PM (flexible within this window) Job Description We are a warm, inclusive art school located in Mountain View, specializing in high-quality one-on-one piano education for children of all ages and abilities. We offer personalized piano lessons for both typically developing children and children with special needs, and we are now seeking a patient, passionate piano teacher to join our teaching team. In this role, you will provide private, customized piano instruction tailored to each student's learning pace, interests and unique needs. You will create a positive, supportive learning environment, help students build basic piano skills, cultivate musical literacy, and foster a lifelong love for music—with special focus on adapting teaching strategies to support students with diverse learning needs. Key Responsibilities Deliver one-on-one private piano lessons to children (ages vary) during 3:00 PM•5:00 PM Design individualized lesson plans and teaching materials for each student Adjust teaching methods flexibly to meet the specific learning needs of children with special needs Maintain a patient, kind, respectful and inclusive attitude toward all students Track student progress and provide gentle, encouraging guidance Uphold professional teaching standards and create a safe, joyful learning atmosphere Requirements Professional piano background: formal piano training, solid technical foundation and proficient playing skills Prior experience working with children (required); experience teaching private piano lessons is highly preferred Experience or genuine willingness to work with children with special needs is a strong plus Exceptional patience, empathy, kindness and a warm, nurturing personality Ability to flexibly adapt teaching styles to accommodate diverse learning abilities Strong communication skills and a collaborative, responsible work ethic Reliable, punctual and committed to supporting student growth What We Offer Competitive hourly pay: $50/hour Meaningful, fulfilling work shaping children's musical journey Supportive, inclusive school culture focused on student-centered education Flexible part-time schedule within afternoon hours Opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with special needs How to Apply Please submit your resume + a brief introduction about your piano teaching +a video of yourself playing the piano. experience and experience with children/special needs students.
