The Prince George's County Office of Central Services is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Parts Specialist Lead ( Supply Technician G) grade G16 position in the Fleet Management Division. About the Position This is paraprofessional level work, whereby the incumbent oversees parts and supply for the Fleet Management Division. This role manages inventory, procurement, and distribution of automotive parts, equipment, and shop supplies to support Fleet Management operations, safety, and efficiency. The incumbent is responsible for supervising subordinate Parts Specialist employees and assisting the Supply Manager with ensuring adequate supplies are maintained for the Division's day-to-day operations. Incumbent works independently and reviewed for completeness and accuracy of results . About the Agency The Office of Central Services is a multifaceted agency of the Prince George's County Government providing government-wide, mission critical support services in the areas of facilities operations and management, building design & construction, real estate services, fleet management, and general services. We make government operations operate better for the government. Oversee day-to-day parts and inventory operations, including stock levels, ordering, receiving, and distribution. Manages procurement of automotive and heavy-duty mechanical parts, shop supplies and consumables, technician uniforms and safety gear, and soy-based, bio-based, and plant-based products. Maintains inventory control processes, including stock tracking and reconciliation, cycle counts and audits, and demand forecasting and usage monitoring. Supervises parts room staff and monitors inventory accuracy, timely issuance of parts, and other processing and receiving. Coordinates with vendors to support timely delivery of parts and supplies in accordance with operational needs and County procurement procedures. Supports fleet management operations by ensuring parts availability aligns with preventive maintenance schedules and repair activities. Collaborate with the Fleet Manager to support budget planning for parts and supplies, cost control and inventory efficiency, and continuous improvement of inventory systems. Willingly and cooperatively performs tasks and duties which may not be specifically listed in the class specification or position description, but which are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee's class of work.
