The Prince George's County Police Department is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill Supply Property Clerk 4P , grade P14 positions in the Bureau of Patrol. About this Position This is first-line supervisory work in the supply/property/materials management operation. Incumbents assume a primary role in administering a major inventory control/supply activity. Work is performed independently under the general supervision of a designated supervisor and is evaluated as it contributes to achieving organizational objectives. Work in this class includes physical activities such as repeated bending, kneeling, reaching, driving, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds. About the Agency The Prince George's County Police Department is the fourth largest law enforcement agency in Maryland, providing a full range of law enforcement services to County residents and business owners. Their mission is to work in partnership with citizens of Prince George's County towards providing a safe environment and enhancing the quality of life. Today, the Prince George's County Police Department serves over 900,000 residents and has an authorized strength of 1800 officers and 300 civilians. Ensures proper maintenance, repair, and replacement of equipment with minimal downtime, including but not limited to pool cars, RADARS, Breathalyzers, computers, station radios, copy and facsimile machines, kitchen equipment, and furniture. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of equipment maintenance and minor repair. Handles minor repairs and determinations of needs. Maintains Knowledge of all rules, regulations, and procedures required for the proper handling and processing of all tasks listed. Demonstrates the ability to create and maintain effective systems for control and accountability, including but not limited to: filing, tickler systems, calendars, charts, and graphs. Assists as the public and vendor liaison in coordinating government and private services and providing resources for resolving issues. Accepts miscellaneous assignments as necessary or as assigned, which may not be specifically listed in the position's description but are within the general operations category and responsibility level. Assists various units with monthly and yearly PM's (Preventive Maintenance) of division motorized equipment. Ensures cleanliness, proper repair, and correction of any malfunction, deficiency, or hazard within the facility and/or equipment •Receive notice of facility problems and respond within a sufficient timeframe to ensure minimal malfunction or hazard. Maintains positive work relationships with janitorial, repair, and maintenance personnel. Responds to requests for janitorial, repair, and maintenance personnel. Maintains systems for control and accountability of court summonses, sick calls for court, issuance of supplies, and property. Ensures Division's Monthly Inspections. Ensures maintaining inventory and proper stock of supplies. Keeps effective records of supplies ordered, received, backordered, and cancelled orders. Establishes court dates and processing of summonses. Ensures prompt and accurate transfer of property from the station to the property warehouse. Works in partnership with internal and external customers to assist in finding resolutions to immediate problems. Answers phones, receive visitors, and maintain visitors' log. Assists with interviews (Sworn and Non-Sworn). Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet all minimum qualifications listed below to be eligible for additional consideration: Must have six (6) months of experience as a Supply/Property Clerk III or Possess high school diploma or GED certificate Three (3) years of experience in varied procurement and materiel management activities including inventory control, warehousing, purchasing, distributing, invoicing, and stocking a broad variety of equipment, materials and supplies Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience may also be considered. Preferred Qualifications Experience using inventory control software. Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal customers and vendors.

Upon selection, the candidate must (where applicable): Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation. Be able to work early mornings, split shifts, evenings, weekends, and special events as operational needs require. Be capable of standing and directing traffic for extended periods and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency. Wear and use agency protective apparel and equipment in the performance of their assigned duties. Successfully pass preemployment checks which may include reference checks, background investigations, and drug screenings. Be willing and able to serve as an essential employee. Essential employees are expected to report during standard or non-standard hours as operations necessitate, or during emergencies. Essential employees are expected to report or remain at work when other County employees are granted Administrative Leave. Accountability Statement The incumbent must meet and maintain the training standards set forth by the Prince George's County Police Department. The incumbent shall not disseminate confidential information, administrative or operational, unless expressly authorized. Confidential information may not be discussed with other County employees (including individuals in the Police Department), except for work-related reasons, under terms and conditions of the Maryland Public Information Act.
