Patient Access Representative - General Surgery πŸ” Michigan, Bay City New πŸ“ Administrative/Clerical πŸ’Ό McLaren Bay Region πŸ“…    26002587 Requisition # Apply for Job Share this Job Sign Up for Job Alerts Under minimum direction, the Patient Access Representative II is responsible for completing tasks associated with specific assignments. Specific job responsibilities will be in registration, financial clearance, insurance verification, cashier, etc. as assigned by Revenue Cycle Management. Patient Access Representative II is expected to perform assignment tasks within the quality and productivity standards assigned to position responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
  • Completes all assigned tasks and responsibilities of Patient Access Representative II accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Responds promptly, professionally and courteously to all customers' needs.
  • Cooperates and communicates effectively with all McLaren Health Care team members.
  • Contributes to continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Completes complex tasks accurately and timely. May seek guidance and direction from Rep III and supervisor as needed for complex assignments.
  • Organizes time and prioritizes effectively.
  • Practices cost effective measures.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all matters regarding patients, the hospital, the department and human resources.
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations and Patient Bill of Rights.
  • Flexes to meet department needs and objectives.
  • Follows all safety and health standards.
  • Other duties as assigned or when necessary to maintain efficient operation of the department and the company as a whole.
Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 4 years of Patient Access, Customer Service or Medical work experience OR Associates Degree in related field and 2 years of Patient Access or Medical Billing work experience.
  • Internal employees much have no corrective actions
  • Proven skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word, Window based applications, and 10 key calculators
Preferred:
  • Certification in medical billing, coding, or equivalent job specific certification
  • Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10
  • Six years' experience in progressively more responsible finance and/or healthcare revenue cycle functions
