Full Job Description Overview :
This is a great role for those seeking to gain experience in a non-clinical Health Care position. At NYC Retina, we pride ourselves in providing the care that we would want for ourselves and our loved ones. As the first point of contact for all patients and referring providers, you will play a vital role in assisting our team in providing high quality care to our patients. You will be in constant communication with all patients, departments and members of our practice, assisting in assuring an efficient workflow to better care for our patients. We are seeking a dedicated Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our patients and work in a dynamic healthcare environment that strives to be the best of the best by constantly improving.
Duties :
  • Greet patients, check them in, and confirm their insurance and personal details
  • Schedule, confirm, and check out appointments
  • Collect copayments and balances and record them accurately
  • Keep patient charts and forms up to date
  • Track patient arrivals and departures to help manage office flow
  • Assist patients who qualify for copay assistance programs
  • Communicate clearly with all departments—clinical, billing, and administration
  • Stay in touch with patients through the office's text and call system
  • Answer phones, return messages, and handle general questions
  • Help close the office at the end of the day and keep the front desk organized
Requirements :
Mandatory travel between both office locations; Forest Hills and Gramercy. Must be able to work at least 2 Saturdays a month Willingness to work early morning shifts Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Bilingual is a plus
