Our mission: To serve as a community-centered provider of services to improve health, education, and economic opportunities for individuals and families Harmony Health Medical Clinic and Family Resource Center (Harmony Health) has 4 locations serving the communities of Yuba and Sutter counties. Harmony Health offers full-service family practice medical care. Additionally, there is a Clinic on Wheels that visits Camptonville and North San Juan weekly. Position Summary The Patient Transport Drivers are responsible for providing a professional and reliable door-to-door service for patients that require transportation services for their medical appointments. In this role, the Patient Transport Driver will be a reliable asset to transporting patients to and from their appointments, and, during their non-driving time, will perform front office duties at the clinic. Essential Responsibilities Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle safety and cleanliness inspections. Drive patients safely to and from appointments following California traffic laws. Handle routine vehicle maintenance, refueling, and immediate mechanical issue reporting. Ensure vehicle compliance with all local and state regulatory standards. Maintain a flawless driving record and immediately report any license changes. Greet patients and manage check-ins using the e-MDs Practice Management System. Verify and update patient demographics, insurance, and contact information. Manage phone calls, route inquiries, and handle appointment scheduling/cancellations. Process patient payments, manage the cash box, and issue receipts. Coordinate chronic care services through data entry, tracking, and patient outreach. Monitor waiting patients and liaise with back-office staff to optimize clinic flow. Assist with data collection for payer programs and replenish clinic forms/supplies. Maintain waiting room cleanliness and strictly enforce HIPAA confidentiality and infection control. Other Duties as assigned Key Competencies Recognizing physical distress, applying CPR/First Aid, and managing crises. Mastering accident prevention, adverse weather driving, and California traffic laws. Remaining calm under pressure while planning efficient, punctual routes. Maintaining precise logs for vehicle inspections, trip times, and incidents. Operating wheelchair lifts, ramps, and multi-point securement systems. Monitoring road conditions, vehicle performance, and patient health simultaneously. Showing empathy to vulnerable patients and executing safe physical transfers. Listening to patient needs, easing transit anxiety, and clarifying instructions.
Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Valid Driver's License Medical Certification:
Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) credential. Active BLS (Basic Life Support) Schedule & Work Environment This is a full-time position. days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position may require longer hours and weekend availability as needed.
Physical Requirements Strength & Stamina:
Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 20 pounds frequently.
Mobility Support:
Ability to bend, kneel, and pivot to secure wheelchairs and assist passengers.
Vision & Hearing:
Perfect or corrected vision and hearing to meet commercial driving standards.
