I. SUMMARY
: Supervision of a highway pavement marking crew for the purpose of applying various types of pavement markings to the State maintained highway system.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS
Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
Equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Experience in the maintenance or construction of state or local highways with supervisory experience in directing groups in highway maintenance and construction procedures.
License/Certification:
Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License Class B (CDL-B) with air brakes and tank endorsements.
Other Requirements:
1. Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards established by Department of Transportation. 2. Offers of employment are conditional upon the individual obtaining a Commercial Driver's License medical card unless the candidate is currently employed by the State of New Hampshire 3. Must receive a negative result on a pre-employment urinalysis drug screen in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations and US DOT requirements 4. Must be able to lift/carry material weighing up to 50 lbs. on an intermittent basis 5. Must be available for non-traditional work hours including evening and overnight work, and must be willing to work overtime and to stay away overnight as required

RESPONSIBILITIES
: Leads pavement marking crew in the application of pavement markings on roadways. Drives and operates pavement marking or stencil truck to apply appropriate pavement markings in compliance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and NHDOT standards and procedures. Assures quality control of workmanship relative to marking width, thickness, proper bead application as shown in design plans or Department standards. Coordinates dynamic mobile or short-term work zones that consist of up to twelve people and eight vehicles. Directs the operation of equipment and vehicles by other crew members. Records daily activities and accomplishment, documenting records of labor, equipment, materials and other costs used in pavement marking operations for asset management and tracking purposes. Supervises maintenance and rebuilding of pavement marking application equipment and other assigned assets. Supervises assigned crew members in the execution and application of traffic control, equipment maintenance and operation, safety equipment use and all aspects of pavement marking operations. Provides technical/skilled training and mentoring to pavement marking crew and subordinates. Lays out passing/no passing zones per NHDOT records, and intersection markings to ensure compliance with the MUTCD and NHDOT Standards. Communicates directly with local officials and contract administrators regarding daily operations and scheduling to resolve potential conflicts. Interacts with the public while performing duties.
