at Robert Half in New Gloucester, Maine, United States Job Description Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join the team in New Gloucester, Maine on a Contract basis. This position will support payroll operations, helping ensure accurate and timely weekly and biweekly pay processing using PAYCOM . The ideal candidate brings hands-on payroll experience, strong accuracy, and the ability to work effectively in an on-site environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process weekly and biweekly payroll cycles with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.
- Review employee pay data, time records, deductions, and adjustments to ensure payroll information is complete and correct before each run.
- Support the payroll team with day-to-day administrative and processing tasks that keep payroll operations running smoothly.
- Handle garnishments, withholdings, and other payroll-related deductions in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies by working closely with employees and internal team members.
- Maintain organized payroll records and help ensure documentation is current, accurate, and audit-ready.
- Use Paycom to enter, verify, and manage payroll information while following established payroll procedures.
- Assist with payroll-related updates or process changes as needed, including system-related activities when assigned. Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in payroll processing, including full-cycle payroll responsibilities.
- Proven ability to manage weekly and biweekly payroll for a multi-employee workforce.
- Working knowledge of payroll garnishments, deductions, and related compliance considerations.
- Experience using Paycom for payroll entry, review, or processing is required.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct payroll errors efficiently.
- Ability to work on site in New Gloucester, Maine.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with payroll team members and employees.
