Experience:
Previous payroll or related experience.
Education:
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
Type:
Full-time;
Contract Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (ability to work OT as needed) ProRecruiters is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join a growing and dynamic team!
Job Description:
Process biweekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Review, calculate, and validate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and garnishments Maintain and reconcile payroll records and general ledger accounts Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and tax laws Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including quarterly and annual reports (e.g., W 2s, W 3s) Coordinate payroll-related audits and provide documentation as requested Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies professionally and confidentially Process new hires, terminations, pay changes, and benefit deductions in payroll systems Collaborate with HR and Accounting to ensure accurate employee data and reporting Support month-end and year-end close activities related to payroll Maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls
Position Requirements:
Working knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and wage compliance Proficiency with payroll systems and accounting software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, or similar) Strong Excel and data reconciliation skills High attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and time management skills Analytical and problem-solving ability Effective written and verbal communication Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
