Payroll Specialist

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to work in our Carey, Ohio office. The Payroll Specialist will provide payroll duties within the Accounting Department including, but not limited to, processing of weekly payroll; preparing, distributing and filing of all certified reports, payroll taxes, garnishments, child support, and temporary employee billings.

Duties:

Process and manage weekly payroll, including data entry, edits, payment files, reports, and online check stub posting Ensure payroll accuracy by verifying exceptions, deductions, HR updates, and compliance with deadlines File payroll taxes, certified payroll reports, child support, garnishments, and required government documentation Maintain prevailing wage compliance, classifications, determinations, and certified payroll records Reconcile contract labor invoices and code invoices for payment processing Perform additional duties as assigned by the Controller High school diploma or equivalent Prior payroll experience with an organization employing 250+ employees is preferred At least 2 years of any combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities of a Payroll Specialist Familiarity with prevailing wage laws and certified payroll reporting is preferred Excellent computer skills with strong & accurate typing skills Highly organized; strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle confidential information with discretion & professionalism Vaughn Industries is a family owned construction company headquartered in Carey, Ohio that has been in business for over 60 years.
