Pay:
$26.50 26-04374 Job Summary The Payroll Tax Specialist is responsible for supporting backend payroll tax operations, ensuring accurate processing, filing, and resolution of payroll tax matters across multiple jurisdictions. This role focuses on post-payroll activities, including managing tax notices, coordinating with state agencies and third-party providers, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and FICA tax regulations. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage high-volume workloads, and effective communication with internal teams and external partners in a large corporate environment. Job Responsibilities Process and manage payroll tax filings, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Review and resolve payroll tax notices by working with state agencies and third-party tax providers. Coordinate power of attorney documentation and third-party authorizations as required. Support multi-state payroll tax operations, including validation and reconciliation of tax data. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to address tax-related inquiries and discrepancies. Maintain accurate records of tax filings, notices, and resolutions. Participate in payroll-related projects, including testing and system updates. Utilize Excel and other tools to analyze data and support tax processing activities. Manage internal ticketing workflows and ensure timely resolution of assigned tasks. Attend meetings and provide updates on payroll tax activities and issues. Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. 2-3 years of experience in payroll tax processing or payroll operations. Experience working within a large corporate or enterprise environment. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and FICA payroll taxes. Experience with payroll tax filings and compliance requirements. Familiarity with multi-state tax regulations and processes. Experience working with state agencies and third-party tax vendors. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage repetitive, high-volume tasks. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Work Experience 2-3 years of payroll tax or payroll operations experience required.
