Full-Time About the Opportunity We are seeking a Payroll Tax Supervisor to lead and support tax compliance operations in a high-volume, multi-state environment. This role is responsible for overseeing tax filings, ensuring compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions, and guiding a team of tax specialists to deliver accurate and timely results. This is an opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and enjoys improving processes, developing teams, and driving operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Supervise and develop a team of tax specialists, including training, performance management, and workload distribution Oversee preparation and filing of federal, state, and local payroll tax returns Ensure timely and accurate tax payments and compliance with all regulatory requirements Serve as a subject matter expert for payroll tax processes and compliance Research and resolve complex tax issues across multiple jurisdictions Support expansion into new states by developing processes and ensuring compliance readiness Implement and improve systems and tools to increase efficiency and accuracy Partner with payroll, finance, and operations teams to support organizational goals Proactively manage deadlines to prevent penalties and compliance issues Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in multi-state payroll tax or tax processing Prior supervisory or team leadership experience Strong knowledge of payroll tax compliance (federal, state, and local) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word Solid understanding of accounting principles Key Skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision High level of integrity and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Experience working in high-volume payroll or fiscal services environments Experience implementing process improvements or system enhancements What Makes You a Fit You take ownership and drive results You lead by example and develop your team You thrive in fast-paced, compliance-driven environments You bring structure and clarity to complex tax processes Work Environment & Physical Requirements Primarily office-based with extended periods of sitting and computer work Ability to manage multiple systems and tasks simultaneously Occasional travel may be requiredSimilar remote jobs
