Monday, Tuesday, and Friday-12 pm to 6.pm Possible wednesday Job Overview Join our dedicated pediatric home care team as a Pediatric Home Care Nurse (RN) specializing in Ventilator, Trach, and G-tube care! This vital role offers the opportunity to provide compassionate, expert nursing care to children with complex medical needs in their own homes. Working 24 hours per week, you will deliver high-quality, personalized care that promotes health, safety, and comfort for our young patients. Your expertise will empower families and support their journey toward improved quality of life through comprehensive clinical interventions and family education. Responsibilities Deliver skilled nursing care to pediatric patients with ventilator dependence, tracheostomies, G-tubes, and other complex medical devices in a home setting. Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, respiratory status, and physical examinations tailored to pediatric needs. Manage ventilator systems, including troubleshooting and ensuring proper functioning to maintain airway patency and respiratory stability. Administer medications via injections, IV infusions, and tube feedings while adhering to strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Educate families and caregivers on device management, medication administration, infection control practices, and emergency procedures. Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for discharge planning, ongoing assessments, and case management to optimize patient outcomes. Experience Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state certification. Proven pediatric nursing experience in home care or clinical settings; experience with ventilator management strongly preferred. Familiarity with advanced medical equipment including ventilators, G-tubes, tracheostomy care, and suctioning techniques. Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques essential for working with immunocompromised children. Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or chronic health conditions is highly desirable. Competence in handling emergency situations such as airway obstructions or respiratory distress promptly and effectively. Strong communication skills for family education and collaboration with healthcare teams; proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is a plus.
