ob description: KIDS Urgent Care in Wheaton, IL is seeking to hire full or part-time board-certified pediatrician or physician with pediatric urgent care experience to join our team. This position is primarily responsible for assisting in evaluation and management of ill, injured and/or other health concerns of presenting patients and their parents to KIDS Urgent Care including with treatment of everyday illnesses, orthopedic cases, IV management for pneumonia, asthma, UTIs, colic, gastroenteritis, dehydration, cellulitis, abscesses, minor cuts, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following are a list of expected duties. While the list is not all-inclusive, it is reasonable to expect that the candidate would willingly and readily meet and exceed these responsibilities in an effort to provide optimal care to the presenting patient.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Doctoral degree (M. D., Doctor of Medicine and D.O., Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) or equivalent; formal education, experience (>2 years) and/or training to pediatric practice and the care of children is required. Full-time physicians must be board-certified or board eligible by any one of the following: the American Board of Pediatrics, American Board of Family Medicine, the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Applicants must possess current 1) Illinois State Medical License 2) DEA & State controlled substanceLicenses TEAM Commitment:
Arrive each day prepared to work at your appointed time Be prepared to leave at the end of the day only after patient care is completed. Attend and participate in regular staff and Quality Assurance meetings Offer to help during down time. Offer to help educate other team members/acting as a mentor Supervise mid-levels as requested/requiredPATIENT Commitment:
Reviews pediatric patient file/record, including allergies, problems, medications, and immunization status. Elicits and records information about pediatric patient's medical history. Examines pediatric patients for symptoms or physical information using sensitivity and concern appropriate for age and in support of parents. Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on pediatric patient's condition. Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of pediatric patients. Administers or prescribes treatments to children with appropriate explanations for parents. Performs surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency. Determines and prescribes medication, dosage, and schedule given the child's condition and allergies. Discusses any possible side effects to medication or immunization with child and parent. Conducts physical examinations to provide information needed for admission to school, consideration for jobs, or eligibility for insurance coverage.CORPORATE

Be willing to learn and utilize EMR (Athena) and tablet/laptop technology at the bedside. Completes thorough documentation of the pediatric patient's visit including medical history, physical exam, diagnoses, plan of action, and appropriate coding. Follows up with patient regarding progress in high risk or emergency cases. Daily follow up on laboratory tests and X-Rays.PERSONAL/PROFESSIONAL

Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities.
