Job Description
What You'll Do:
Share lived experience of resilience and recovery and models successful recovery behaviors for individuals with a mental health diagnoses and/or a substance use disorder. Link clients with support groups and other community resources, which may include connecting with health & wellness activities, finding and maintaining employment, or other activities that would support clients' recovery goals. Work within an interdisciplinary team to develop and modify individual client treatment plans. May participate and/or facilitate mutual support and education groups within specific ReDiscover programs. May assist with client transportation, which could include transporting individuals in personal vehicle. Safeguards Protected Health Information (written and electronically) and maintains confidentiality. This may include providing written documentation. Requirements of thePosition:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Will have to be willing to work Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm or 9:30am-6:00pm. A valid automobile driver's license, appropriate automobile insurance and a safe, reliable, registered automobile available for use during work. Must have life experiences with a substance use disorder and/or mental illness and have received appropriate services. Must have successfully completed the Peer Specialist training through the Missouri Credentialing Board (MCB) and successfully passed the certification exam. Individuals who are non-certified at time of hire may be given a specific timeframe to attend training and obtain initial certification. Must also satisfy requirements for external community partners. Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus. Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as the use of email.
