Seeking hosts for "Barely Explained," an original May Productions comedy/explainer series about the strange history, social habits, everyday frustrations, and bizarre true stories hiding behind things we usually never question. The tone is conversational, curious, funny, and irreverent: less traditional explainer, more the friend who went down a rabbit hole and now has to tell you what she found. Episodes range from self-checkout, tipping, and Arizona heat to radioactive health fads, CAPTCHAs, strange history, and the time America banned sliced bread. Different hosts will appear across the series, with talent matched to individual episodes based on personality and delivery style. Strong fits may be invited back for future episodes. The series combines real research with humor, fourth-wall breaks, and unconventional visual comedy, and is being developed as a recurring digital format.
