Job Description
Job Summary:
CSMA is seeking a passionate, dynamic Improv & Acting Faculty to lead engaging, inclusive, and skill-building classes for adult professionals in a corporate setting. The ideal candidate brings strong performance experience, a collaborative teaching style, and the ability to foster a supportive and creative learning environment.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and teach improv and acting classes for adult students (beginner to intermediate levels) at the client site Develop a curriculum that includes foundational acting techniques, improvisation exercises, and scene work Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and skill levels Provide constructive feedback to support student growth and confidence Organize and direct informal showcases or performances Maintain consistent communication with the Program Manager regarding class progress and needs Skills/Qualifications/Experience Prior experience teaching acting and/or improv to adults Strong background in theatre, improv, or performing arts Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal Ability to create a safe and inclusive learning space Degree or formal training in Theatre Arts or related field Experience with diverse communities and adult learners is a plus Excellent organizational skills Competent computer skills and familiarity with video conferencing software, Zoom, Google Workspace, and MS Office. A reliable form of transportation to get to and from the assigned client site/sites and occasional trips to the Community School of Music and Arts in Mountain View, CA. Physical Demands The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Benefits Include:
All faculty have access to a 403(B) retirement plan. Paid Sick Leave accrual. Medical, dental, and vision benefits are available for faculty who teach 20 hours or more a week. All supplies and equipment are provided by the school. Employee and Family discount on private lessons and classesSchedule:
Teaching opportunities are primarily during weekdays from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Weekly teaching hours may range from approximately 2 to 8 hours.To Apply :
