Job Description

Bring haunted attraction to life by portraying frightening characters and delivering engaging, immersive performances. This role requires staying in character, interacting safely with guests, and helping create a memorable experience while following all safety and operational procedures. Key Responsibilities Perform as an assigned character throughout scheduled shifts. Stay in character while interacting with guests in a haunted attraction. Use body language, movement, voice, and timing to create effective scares. Work collaboratively with fellow actors and attraction staff to maintain a consistent guest experience. Follow all safety guidelines and emergency procedures. Attend rehearsals, costume fittings, and training sessions. Maintain costumes, props, and makeup in good condition and report any issues. Adapt performances based on guest flow and attraction needs. Treat guests and coworkers with professionalism and respect at all times. Qualifications Ability to remain energetic and in character for extended periods. Comfortable working in dark, loud, and theatrical environments. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Previous acting, theater, improv, or haunted attraction experience is preferred but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, crouch, crawl, and perform repetitive movements for long periods. Ability to wear costumes, masks, prosthetics, or makeup for extended periods. Work Schedule Seasonal position. Weekend evenings availability required. Flexible scheduling during the haunted attraction season. Desired Skills Acting or improvisation experience. Ability to memorize character backstories or scripted interactions. Strong situational awareness and guest service skills. Positive attitude and willingness to take direction. Working Conditions Scare Actors work in dimly lit, high-energy environments with fog effects, flashing lights, loud sounds, and frequent guest interaction. Employees must maintain a safe performance while creating an entertaining and immersive haunted attraction experience.
