Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Dance Instructor and Choreographer to inspire students of all ages through the art of dance and movement. In this role, you will develop engaging curricula, lead energetic dance classes, and craft innovative choreography that celebrates creativity and self-expression. Your expertise will foster a positive learning environment, nurture artistic growth, and promote confidence among your students. Responsibilities Design comprehensive dance curricula tailored to various skill levels, including ballet, contemporary, jazz, and other dance styles. Lead engaging dance classes for diverse age groups, from preschoolers to adults, ensuring a fun and inclusive atmosphere. Develop original choreography for performances, recitals, and community events that showcase students' talents. Manage classroom behavior effectively while maintaining a safe environment conducive to learning and artistic exploration. Incorporate elements of theater, musical instruments, and visual arts into dance instruction to enrich students' understanding of performing arts. Collaborate with other instructors on interdisciplinary projects such as theater productions or youth programs teaching experience. Provide constructive feedback to students to support their technical skills, creativity, and personal growth in dance and arts education. Requirements Proven experience in teaching dance styles such as ballet, jazz, contemporary or related disciplines with a strong emphasis on choreography. Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum plans that cater to different age groups and skill levels. Background in classroom management and behavior management techniques for working with children and youth programs. Experience working with children or adults in educational or community settings; preschool or special education experience is a plus. Knowledge of childhood development principles relevant to arts instruction and ability to adapt lessons accordingly. Skills in teaching visual & performing arts along with proficiency in musical instruments or singing are advantageous. Strong organizational skills for lesson planning, event coordination, and performance preparation; familiarity with photography or sewing is a bonus for costume design or documentation purposes.
