Job Description
At CaRu Entertainment, we believe dance is about more than learning choreography—it's about developing confident, disciplined, and expressive young artists. We are seeking a passionate, technically strong Dance Instructor & Choreographer to join our growing faculty. This position is ideal for an educator who enjoys building dancers from the ground up through thoughtful technical training and who is excited to contribute creatively through choreography. For the right candidate, this role also offers opportunities to grow into studio operations and artistic management, making it an excellent position for someone interested in developing a long-term career within a thriving performing arts organization. What You'll Do Instruction Teach technical dance classes emphasizing strong foundational training, alignment, strength, flexibility, musicality, and performance quality. Foster a positive, encouraging classroom culture while maintaining high standards of excellence. Provide individualized feedback to help dancers reach their potential. Choreography Create and rehearse competitive solo routines. Collaborate with Artistic Directors on choreography, artistic vision, and dancer development. Coach dancers throughout the season to refine performance quality and technical execution. Growth Opportunities (Optional) For candidates interested in expanding beyond teaching, additional leadership opportunities are available, including: Competition and convention logistics Performance and travel coordination Event and production planning Studio operations and administrative coordination Artistic project management and organizational leadership This position has the potential to evolve into a broader leadership role based on experience, strengths, and interest. Qualifications We're looking for someone who: Holds a bachelor's degree or higher in Dance, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Arts Education, or a related field; or has equivalent advanced professional conservatory or fine arts training. Has a strong technical dance background with exceptional knowledge of ballet, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, or related disciplines. Has experience teaching children and teens. Is passionate about developing technique—not simply teaching combinations. Has choreography experience or a strong interest in creating competitive solos. Is reliable, organized, collaborative, and professional. Enjoys working as part of a supportive, creative team. Competition and convention experience is preferred.
