Ballet, Pre-Pointe & Pointe Instructor Elite Dance & Music | Nolensville, Tennessee Part-time, paid position Help Dancers Build the Strength, Artistry, and Confidence to Shine Elite Dance & Music is seeking an experienced, inspiring Ballet Instructor to lead our Ballet Levels 1-4, Pre-Pointe, and Pointe classes. This is an opportunity to guide dancers through a meaningful progression—from building their first strong technical foundation to developing the strength, control, artistry, and discipline required for pointe work and confident stage performance. At Elite, class is the beginning and performance gives it purpose. Our dancers train throughout the season toward story-driven productions, recital performances, and additional opportunities for those ready to go further. We are looking for an instructor who can balance high expectations with encouragement, helping every dancer feel challenged, supported, and known. What You'll Do Teach engaging, age-appropriate Ballet Levels 1-4, Pre-Pointe, and Pointe classes. Build technically sound classes that develop alignment, placement, turnout, strength, flexibility, coordination, musicality, and artistry. Create clear progression between levels so dancers understand what they are working toward and are prepared for their next step. Evaluate pointe readiness carefully and prioritize healthy, developmentally appropriate training. Provide corrections with clarity and encouragement, helping dancers build confidence, accountability, and strong studio habits. Create choreography for Elite's story-driven winter production, spring recital, and other studio performance opportunities. Prepare dancers to perform with confidence, precision, expression, and stage presence. Maintain a structured, positive classroom where students can focus, take creative risks, and grow. Communicate professionally with studio leadership and collaborate with fellow faculty to support each dancer's overall development. Participate in faculty meetings, rehearsals, performances, and other scheduled studio activities connected to assigned classes. What We're Looking For Our ideal instructor brings: Strong training in classical ballet and pointe technique. Previous experience teaching multiple ballet levels, including intermediate or advanced students. Demonstrated knowledge of safe pre-pointe preparation, pointe readiness, injury prevention, and age-appropriate progression. The ability to lead a classroom with warmth, consistency, clarity, and high expectations. Experience choreographing and preparing students for stage performances. Strong musicality and the ability to teach ballet terminology and technique in an understandable, engaging way. A genuine commitment to helping young dancers grow as artists, performers, teammates, and confident people. Dependability, professionalism, and clear communication with students, families, and studio leadership. A degree in dance, professional performance experience, recognized ballet pedagogy training, or certification in a classical ballet methodology is valued, but we welcome candidates whose teaching experience and technical knowledge demonstrate equivalent preparation.
