About Chicago Built Athletics CBA is a youth sports and athletic development organization based in downtown Chicago, serving kids and teens ages 5 to 18. Dance is one of our core activities, alongside flag football, basketball, golf, swimming, and strength & speed training, all built around the same development-first coaching philosophy: we want every dancer building real skill, confidence, and stage presence, not just memorizing a routine. //chicagobuiltathletics.com/ About the Role As CBA's Dance Instructor, you'll lead Hip-Hop classes for students ages 8 to 18, building a curriculum that develops real technique over time and creating a class environment that's disciplined, fun, and welcoming to total beginners and experienced dancers alike. Classes currently run Saturday afternoons at our Lake Shore East location, with more class times planned as the program grows. What You'll Do Plan and lead Saturday-afternoon Hip-Hop classes for students ages 8 to 18 Build a progressive curriculum so students visibly improve technique over time, not just learn one routine Choreograph and rehearse routines for a showcase or recital Create a positive, high-energy learning environment that keeps kids engaged and coming back Track attendance and communicate student progress to parents and CBA staff Maintain a safe studio environment and follow CBA's health, safety, and supervision standards Collaborate with CBA leadership as class offerings and schedule expand

What We're Looking For Required:

Experience teaching Hip-Hop dance to children and/or teens in a class or studio setting (not just performance experience) Strong technical foundation in Hip-Hop Comfortable managing a group of 10 to 20 students independently Reliable, punctual, and clear communicator with kids, parents, and staff Willingness to complete a background check

Preferred:

Experience or training in Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, and Tap dance (not required, but a strong plus) Formal dance training or certification (studio, collegiate, or professional company background) Experience choreographing for a recital, showcase, or competition team Compensation $22

•35 per hour , based on experience and credentials. Schedule Saturday afternoons currently. CBA is looking to expand dance class offerings to additional days as the program grows.
