Job Description

MAD Studio is seeking an energetic, dependable and encouraging Ballet Instructor to join our teaching team in Bath, Maine. We are looking for someone with strong Ballet training who can create fun, age-appropriate classes while building dancers' musicality, confidence, performance quality and technique. About MAD Studio MAD Studio serves more than 100 dancers ages 3.5-18 through recreational classes and a competitive dance program. We believe top-quality training can be taught with kindness, structure and encouragement. Responsibilities Teach engaging hip-hop classes for children and teens Create age-appropriate combinations and choreography Develop musicality, rhythm, coordination and performance quality Prepare dancers for studio performances and our annual recital Provide clear corrections and encouragement Maintain a positive, organized classroom with consistent expectations Communicate professionally with studio leadership, dancers and families Arrive prepared, dependable and ready to teach Ideal Candidate Has strong training in hip-hop and commercial dance styles Has previous teaching, assisting or choreography experience Understands how to make choreography appropriate for different ages Is energetic, creative and confident leading a classroom Works well with children and teens Is dependable and communicates professionally Is willing to complete a background check Can Teach Pre Point Previous studio teaching experience is preferred, but we are open to mentoring the right candidate with strong dance experience and natural teaching ability. Schedule This is a part-time, in-person position consisting primarily of weekday afternoon and evening classes. Exact days and hours will depend on studio needs and the selected candidate's availability. Additional opportunities may be available for private lessons, camps, choreography and competition-team instruction.
Pay:
$30.00 - $45.00 per hour
