The Associate Director of Bands is responsible for the general operations, administration and academic eligibility compliance of the Bands Program. The Associate Director of Bands reports to the Director of Bands.Examples of Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Bands, including directing the basketball band and assisting with the Marching Maroon and White Band. Assist the Director of Bands in all aspects of a major University band programs and Convocations. May perform other duties that include instrumental methods, jazz, instrumentation/arranging, and instrumental music literature. Assume administrative duties with the band area as appropriate and participate in outreach activities to include summer camps, festivals, and clinics. Work collegially with the professional faculty and staff and to participate on a regular and ongoing basis in professional development. Assume the responsibility of the University Bands Academic Eligibility Compliance Coordinator.Responsibilities are as follows:
In order to track the academic progress of students, the Associate Director of Band will take on duties assigned to the University Bands Academic Eligibility Compliance Coordinator. Attending classes on a regular basis Typical Qualifications Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.): Master's Degree in Music Education, Music, Music Technology, Administrative Education or Educational Leadership Five (5) years of related work experience. Instrumental music teaching on the secondary and/or university level is preferred. Successful experience working with athletic and concert bands, drill writing ability, music arranging skills, and university teaching experience Other experiences including, music festival and camp organization, and successful public/private school music teaching experience would be beneficialSupplemental Information Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
