Job Description

Springdale School District - George Junior High School Assistant Band Director The Springdale School District is now accepting applications for the assistant band director position at George Junior High School. The Springdale Instrumental Music Program is an internationally recognized program built on a tradition of excellence that involves over 2,300 students in grades 6-12. Vision Musical Excellence, Every Student, Every Day Mission Statement To provide each student with a world-class experience in music that is individualized, rigorous, and diverse, providing them with essential life skills and a life-long passion for music This position will require a dynamic and experienced teacher with exceptional pedagogy, outstanding organizational skills, and a passion for student success. Applicants will be asked to demonstrate teaching techniques, organizational systems, and pass-off/pacing methodologies that promote the success of all students. The junior high school assistant band director will assist with the organization and management of the overall junior high band program in collaboration with high school, junior high, and middle school head/assistant band directors. The primary teaching duties of the junior high school assistant band director will include, but are not limited to: Assist with the organization and management of the junior high school band program which will consist of three ability based 8th and 9th grade performing groups (Concert, Symphonic, Wind Symphony) Ensure characteristic instrument tones, music literacy, and instrument/hand/body positions Assist with the coordination of adjunct tutoring staff and schedules Assist with the coordination of all performances and assessments Assist with the coordination and management of program budgets and fundraising Assist with the management of inventory (cleaning, repairing, student instrument assignment, and storage of equipment) Assist with communications and publicity Assist with ensuring compliance with all district and state requirements Engage, plan, and team with high school, junior high, and middle school band directors for program alignment Team teach and assist at the high school, junior high, and middle school band programs Other duties as assigned
Pay:
$56,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
