Job Description

DIRECTOR OF MUSIC MINISTRY
St. Michael Catholic Church, Hudson, FL, is seeking a faith-filled Director of Music Ministry to serve as principal cantor, organist, and choir director. The successful candidate will lead and enhance the sacred music of the liturgy while fostering active participation in parish worship.
Responsibilities include:
Provide organ accompaniment, cantor, and direct music for three weekend Masses. Provide music for weddings, funerals (stipend per event), holy days, and other special liturgies. Coordinate music ministry administration, liturgical planning, and maintenance of music resources and equipment.
Qualifications:
Practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of the Catholic faith and liturgy. Proficiency in organ performance, choral conducting, and cantoring/vocal leadership. Knowledge of sacred music, including hymns, Gregorian chant, choral repertoire, and contemporary liturgical music. Bachelor's degree in Music, Liturgy, or related field preferred. Familiarity with U.S. copyright law, basic computer skills, and Diocesan Safe Environment requirements. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Employment is contingent upon successful background screening and completion of Safe Environment requirements.
