Overview We are seeking a dynamic and inspiring Band Director to lead our school's instrumental music program. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging curriculum for band and instrumental ensembles aligned with educational standards and student needs. Lead rehearsals, performances, and competitions, ensuring high-quality musical execution and student participation. Adapt lessons to accommodate various learning styles, special education needs, and students with disabilities, ensuring inclusive access to music education. Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and other staff to integrate music into broader educational initiatives. Use learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technology tools to track student progress, manage lesson plans, and communicate with parents effectively. Organize performances that showcase student talent while fostering confidence, teamwork, and discipline among participants. Analyze student performance data to identify growth areas, tailor instruction modifications, and support individual achievement goals. Qualifications Proven experience in teaching music at the elementary or middle school level, with a strong background in band or instrumental instruction. Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while maintaining an energetic and motivating environment. Knowledge of curriculum development and implementation for music education that aligns with state standards. Experience working with children from diverse cultural backgrounds and those with special needs or disabilities. Strong communication skills for parent engagement, teacher collaboration, and student motivation. Ability to adapt lessons based on learning styles, instructional modifications, and individual student needs. Passion for teaching music combined with excellent organizational skills in lesson planning and event coordination.
