Director of Music Ministries United Church of Christ-Judd Street Honolulu, HI Job Details Part-time $22 - $30 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Music Interpersonal skills Piano Music Education Recruiting Purchasing Full Job Description Role Summary The Director of Music Ministeries leads the music program by directing the Church choir, Worship Team, and other ensembles, arranging and managing music, coordinating worship with church leadership, Audio-Visual Team, staff, and cultivating the musical gifts of the congregation. Key Responsibilities 1.
Worship Planning & Performance :
Coordinate all music for worship services 2.
Ensemble Leadership & Recruitment :
Direct the music ministries of the Church including Church Choir and the Worship Team. Actively recruit, encourage, and nurture vocalists and instrumentalists within the congregation to promote and expand the music program. 3.
Music Administration & Arrangements :
Select and purchase choir music. Maintain copyright permission for music used; comply with all copyright and licensing requirements. Use and understand multi-media equipment and technology to enhance the music environment. 4.
Leadership & Committee Involvement :
Provide proactive suggestions and observations to continuously enhance the music ministry of the Church. 5.
Stewardship & Professional Growth :
Oversee the upkeep, routine care, and maintenance of all church-owned instruments and live stream equipment. Assist the Pastor with broader ministry projects and fulfill other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A degree in music education, music performance or equivalent experience. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to actively engage the congregation during worship through music. Ability to play piano. Digital keyboard experience preferred. A commitment to spiritual growth which will enhance the basic theological outlook of the Church. 10 - 15 hours per week $22 to $30 per hour
Pay:
$22.00 - $30.00 per hour
