Aug 1, 2026 Job Description The Band Director will develop, implement, and oversee the instrumental music program for elementary, junior high, and high school students. This role involves fostering a love for music, building technical proficiency, and preparing students for performances, competitions, and lifelong appreciation of the arts. The Band Director will collaborate with administrators, staff, parents, and the community to provide a high-quality, comprehensive band program that promotes school spirit, student achievement, and personal growth. General Responsibilities Across All Levels Design and implement curriculum aligned with state and national music education standards. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and assessments. Manage the care, maintenance, and inventory of instruments and equipment. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student growth, teamwork, and respect. Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators. Model and uphold high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field Valid state teaching license Demonstrated proficiency in instrumental performance and conducting. Experience in teaching and directing students across multiple grade levels preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Working Conditions Requires evening and weekend commitments for rehearsals, performances, and competitions, including but not limited to ISSMA and solor and ensemble. Involves supervision of students during travel, events, and activities. Physical ability to carry, set up, and move equipment as needed. Grades 6-12Position Type:
