Leadership Full Job Description Position Overview:
North Oldham United Methodist Church is a new church start in North Oldham County, Kentucky. We are a church that is still being formed as we seek to be a Christ-centered community rooted in prayer, spiritual growth, joyful worship, and openness to the Holy Spirit. Committed to extending Christ's welcome to all people, we seek to grow faithfully, and serve one another and our community with compassion, integrity, and humility. As we grow into this calling, we are seeking a Part-Time Music Director to provide instrumentation and vocal leadership for blended worship. Position responsibilities will include playing and leading both traditional hymns and contemporary praise music. Part-time hours include collaboration with the pastor and Sunday morning 10:00 worship services. Flexibility to add additional hours for additional services during Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in helping shape worship for a new church.
Key Responsibilities:
Worship planning and leadership
  • Plan music for weekly services in collaboration with the pastor, balancing hymns with contemporary praise songs. Lead the congregation in music. Develop PowerPoints for lyrics. Recruitment
  • Identify, recruit and encourage volunteer musicians and vocalists from within the congregation and community. Creative
  • In collaboration with the pastor, creatively plan worship and try innovative ideas to enhance our worship services. Administration
  • Submit weekly song selections for bulletin inclusion.
Ensure compliance with CCLI reporting requirements.
Qualification & Skills:
Faith and Character
  • A committed Christian who views music as a ministry rather than just a performance. Leadership
  • Comfortable playing and leading both hymns and praise songs. Interpersonal
  • Patient, flexible, collaborative and encouraging when working with leadership and volunteers with varying skill levels.
Proficient in keyboard/piano or guitar; strong vocal-leadership skills; or instrument.
Pay:
$7,800.00
