Music Director / Vocal Teaching Artist Nantucket Stage Company is seeking a Music Director and Vocal Teaching Artist for our winter productions of How to Train Your Dragon JR. and Annie JR. December 7-17, 2026
• and core engagement January 4-February 4, 2027. NSC is a nonprofit youth theatre where young people discover their voice, their people, and their purpose through ambitious, joyful theatre-making. We're looking for someone who loves working with young performers and can help them meet a high artistic standard while singing with confidence, clarity, and healthy technique. This artist will teach music and lead vocal rehearsals, prepare soloists and ensembles, and collaborate closely with our artistic and production team. We're especially interested in someone who understands adolescent and developing voices, can teach musical theatre material with care and specificity, and enjoys helping students grow as actors through song. Housing and competitive weekly stipend included.
Qualifications:
The right person will bring: Strong musical theatre teaching and music direction experience Excellent vocal pedagogy for young and developing singers The ability to teach harmonies, shape ensemble sound, and coach individual performers Piano skills sufficient to lead rehearsals; performance accompaniment is not required Warmth, rigor, flexibility, and genuine enthusiasm for working with young people
