Job Description

INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY

TITLE:

Chorus Director

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Building Principal, the Chorus Director is responsible for overseeing students in the choral program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Directs one winter and one spring evening concerts.

Holds supplemental afterschool rehearsals weekly before performances.

Prepares students for CDMMEA Jr. district chorus auditions, participation for those accepted, and chaperoning.

Plans four event dates annually.

Attends special performances in town for our community as well as Worcester sports team venues.

Attends music department trip to adjudicated music festival and theme park.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Current member of the Oxford Education Association.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and/or position oneself to demonstrate technique.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work is generally performed in a school environment, athletic field, athletic setting, indoors and outdoors. The noise level is usually moderate to loud but occasionally high depending upon student population and activities.
