Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Music Director and Organist to lead our vibrant worship and musical programs. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the musical landscape of our faith community, inspiring congregational participation and fostering spiritual growth through music. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of musical excellence, leadership skills, and a heartfelt commitment to ministry, creating an uplifting environment for worship services, choir performances, and special events. As a key spiritual leader, you will collaborate closely with clergy and church staff to select appropriate music, manage musical teams, and ensure that every service resonates with reverence and joy. Responsibilities Ensure a seamless flow that enhances the spiritual experience. Conduct the church choir and oversee vocal training to develop a cohesive and inspiring musical ensemble. Play the organ and keyboard during services, providing musical accompaniment that aligns with liturgical themes. Manage the church's musical instruments and equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained and ready for use. Mentor and manage music teams, including volunteer musicians and choir members, fostering growth through coaching and leadership. Collaborate with clergy to plan service order and integrate music seamlessly into worship experiences. Demonstrate excellent communication skills to coordinate rehearsals, schedule performances, and engage with congregation members effectively. Qualifications Proven experience in church service musical performance, including playing the organ or piano in a liturgical setting. Strong knowledge of musical liturgy, hymnody, vocal music, and praise & worship styles. Familiarity with managing music teams within nonprofit faith-based organizations is highly desirable. Excellent leadership qualities combined with effective communication skills to inspire teams and engage congregations. Knowledge of various musical instruments used in worship settings is preferred. A background in religious leadership or ministry is advantageous but not required; a sincere passion for spiritual music is essential.
