Job Description

PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Brunswick Bands Inc. Announces Expansion of Artistic Leadership With Addition of Second Musical Director Southport, NC — September 11, 2026 — Brunswick Bands Inc. (BBI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting student musicians and bringing live music to audiences across Brunswick County, announced today that it is expanding its artistic leadership team with the addition of a second Musical Director to lead the Brunswick Winds Ensemble. This strategic growth reflects both the county's exceptional population increase and the rising community demand for high-quality ensemble performances. Over the past several years, Brunswick County has become one of the fastest-growing regions in the nation. That growth has been mirrored in the organization's ensembles, where participation, audience attendance, and community engagement have reached record levels. The addition of a second Musical Director will strengthen the organization's ability to meet year-round performance expectations, support expanding ensemble membership, and continue delivering exceptional musical experiences throughout the county. "Brunswick County's growth has brought an incredible surge of interest in our ensembles," said Tim O'Connor, president of BBI. "Adding a second Musical Director ensures we can continue nurturing student musicians, expand our programming, and provide the high-quality performances our community has come to expect." In addition, we support our Music Student Assistance Program, providing resources to financially-eligible middle and high school students and awarding post-secondary scholarships to deserving graduates.
