Part Time Position Summary The Worship Music Coordinator is responsible for the musical leadership of the worship ministry, ensuring excellence, consistency, and spiritual alignment in all musical elements of worship gatherings. This role focuses on building and developing teams of musicians and vocalists while overseeing the musical execution of services and events. In addition to musical leadership, the Worship Music Coordinator helps steward the technical systems that directly support the band, including tracks, click, cues, in-ear monitoring, Ableton/Playback sessions, worship software, and rehearsal preparation tools. This role ensures that musical and technical elements work together seamlessly to create worship environments that are prepared, distraction-free, and spiritually engaging. Key Responsibilities Musical Leadership Lead and oversee all musical aspects of weekend services and special events. Arrange, adapt, and prepare songs for band readiness in a modern worship context. Direct rehearsals with clarity, efficiency, and spiritual intentionality. Ensure strong vocal and instrumental balance, maintaining high standards for tone, timing, transitions, dynamics, and arrangement consistency. Band Development Recruit, audition, and onboard musicians and vocalists. Develop skill pathways and provide coaching in musicality, tone, timing, preparation, and stylistic awareness. Build depth in every position and provide feedback to help team members grow musically and technically. Help musicians grow in confidence using charts, tracks, click, cues, in-ear monitors, and other worship tools. Service Planning Collaboration Partner with the Worship Pastor to shape setlists aligned with teaching, church vision, and desired worship flow. Prepare charts, stems, tracks, and arrangements for all songs; oversee multitrack usage to enhance live musicians. Help plan song transitions, pads, walk-in/walk-out music, ministry moments, and service flow. Maintain song arrangements and resources in Planning Center or other worship planning platforms. Production and Worship Technology Integration Oversee multitracks, click, cues, in-ear monitor systems, and Ableton/Playback sessions — ensuring all are prepared, tested, and functional before rehearsal. Prepare guide cues, count-ins, song sections, pads, transitions, and automation markers as needed. Troubleshoot basic issues related to tracks, playback, MIDI routing, interfaces, cabling, and in-ear monitoring. Ensure ProPresenter has the correct order of service and song arrangements; maintain consistency between rehearsal and weekend service environments. Communicate clearly with audio, video, lighting, and livestream teams regarding service flow, dynamics, transitions, and key moments. Help train musicians and vocalists to use in-ear monitors, click, cues, tracks, charts, and rehearsal resources effectively. Audio and Stage Support Partner with the audio team to support strong front-of-house and in-ear mixes; communicate band needs clearly to audio volunteers and staff. Establish clear expectations for stage setup, including instruments, direct boxes, microphones, and personal monitoring systems. Help identify and resolve recurring audio or stage issues; support consistent stage volume, tone, and band dynamics. Provide input on gear needs related to the band and worship-related equipment. Systems, Organization, and Preparation Maintain organized digital resources for songs, charts, tracks, keys, tempos, arrangements, and rehearsal notes. Ensure Planning Center, Multitracks, Playback/Ableton, and related systems are accurate and up to date. Evaluate and recommend improvements to worship technology workflows as needed. Student Worship Support Provide musical leadership and coaching to the student worship ministry. Build accessible student band arrangements and equip students with the skills to lead confidently. Help student musicians learn click, cues, tracks, charts, in-ear monitors, and worship planning tools. Partner with student ministry leaders to align worship with the overall vision of the church. Identify and invest in emerging leaders; develop assistant music directors, section leaders, and future MDs. Create intentional opportunities for others to lead rehearsals and services. Train others to prepare tracks, lead with click and cues, run rehearsals, and manage basic worship technology. Build a leadership pipeline that expands the ministry beyond personal capacity. Qualifications Active member of The Orchard Church, living in harmony with its Statement of Faith and Core Values. Strong musical proficiency and experience leading full bands. Familiarity with multitracks, click, cues, and modern worship arrangements. Working knowledge of Ableton, Playback, Planning Center, Multitracks, or similar worship technology platforms. Basic understanding of in-ear monitoring, stage inputs, audio flow, and band-related production needs. Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues related to tracks, playback, monitoring, and rehearsal setup. Ability to lead both spiritually and musically. Strong relational, coaching, and communication skills. Organized, dependable, and able to prepare musical and technical elements in advance. Passion for developing musicians, vocalists, students, and future worship leaders. Knowledge/Understanding Thorough understanding of The Orchard Church's Vision, Mission, Purpose, and Core Values. Skills Effective verbal and written communication. Strong time management, organization, and multitasking abilities. Robust understanding of music theory, arrangement, rhythm, harmony, and modern worship instrumentation. Ability to teach, coach, and develop musicians and vocalists at varying skill levels. Strong musical ear with the ability to identify and correct issues related to timing, tone, tuning, dynamics, and transitions.
