Job Description

Embury United Methodist Church, located in Little Silver, NJ, is seeking a Music Director/Organist. We are a welcoming congregation committed to meaningful worship, vibrant music ministry, and community outreach. Our congregation includes talented singers and instrumentalists who actively support our music ministry. Our sanctuary has a renovated two-manual Moeller organ and an Essex grand piano. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about using their gifts to support the church's mission through music.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in piano and organ performance Experience directing church choirs Ability to collaborate with clergy and volunteers Familiarity with Christian worship and traditional/contemporary sacred music Degree in music or equivalent experience preferred Experience with handbells a plus
Responsibilities:
Average commitment of approximately 8 - 12 hours per week for Sunday morning service at 9:30 a.m. and weekly adult choir rehearsal Play for additional worship services during Advent, Lent, and other special services as needed Assist the pastor with worship planning and music selection for services. Recruit/rehearse with soloists, vocal ensembles, and instrumentalists for special music Coordinate the tuning, maintenance, and repair of the organ and pianos Prepare copyright information for Facebook.
