Job Description :
The Director of Music is responsible for curating, facilitating, teaching, and performing a weekly selection of music for the U.Me.
IV church's services and events. They should demonstrate musical background and experience in leading worship. This music serves as a central mechanism to our worship, providing a centering and inclusive expression of faith and community. As such, the music director shall provide this service through the following means, subject to change. Applicant must provide a resume and two work references.
Accountability:
To the
Pastor and Staff Parish Relations Committee Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead music during worship services, including contemporary Christian music and hymns from United Methodist worship resources provided by the church. Ability to play a musical instrument, preferably piano or guitar, while leading worship. Participate with Pastor and Worship Committee in regular planning of worship services. To share music resources for all regularly scheduled worship services, special services, and church holidays. Lead a required midweek and/or Sunday rehearsal. Willing to learn and teach new music. Meets with the Pastor before the Christmas and Easter seasons to coordinate and plan special music presentations. Ability to lead rehearsals and help others grow musically. Adheres to background check and sexual harassment policies and procedures.

Adhere to moral values and standards of the United Methodist Church, including the importance of grace, inclusion, discipleship, and congregational participation Ability to be sensitive to tradition, yet open to innovation Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Comfortable implementing a variety of musical styles and helping create a blended worship experience Experienced in leading or participating in a church worship team Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Other Responsibilities:
Ensure appropriate musical coverage is arranged for vacation, sick days, and other absences, communicating plans with the pastor in advance whenever possible.
Terms of Employment:
Weekday hours: 1.5 hours set aside for practice Sunday hours: 10:00 am
•12:30 pm (2.5 hours) for worship service Midweek Worship Service (2 hours per month
•September through June)
Pay:
$30.00
•$35.00 per hour Expected hours: 6.0
•8.0 per week
