We're currently seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support a well-run student housing community in Isla Vista, CA (Santa Barbara area) with around 50 units and 200+ beds. This role is a strong fit for someone with a maintenance, construction, or trades background who wants stability and a real growth path. The team offers a manageable rotating on-call schedule (about one weekend per month), and for the right candidate, HVAC and EPA certification support may be available. Responsibilities Complete apartment and common-area maintenance work orders in a student housing environment Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs across plumbing, electrical, appliances, and general carpentry Support unit turns and preventative maintenance to keep the community in strong condition Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (about one weekend per month) Maintain a safe, clean shop and follow property safety standards and procedures Qualifications 1+ year of hands-on maintenance experience, or a construction/trades background that translates to property maintenance Comfortable handling basic HVAC, plumbing, and electrical troubleshooting (HVAC experience is a plus) Reliable and able to participate in a rotating on-call schedule (about one weekend per month) Local to or able to commute to the Isla Vista/Goleta/Santa Barbara area (strongly preferred) Coachable, dependable, and interested in long-term growth in maintenance Perks Total compensation range: approximately $35k to $43k annually (base pay plus bonus/commission potential), with top-end base pay of $19/hour Certification support may be available (HVAC and EPA sponsorship for the right candidate) Clear career ladder with long-term growth potential (tech to supervisor to regional facilities) Supportive onsite team at a well-run student housing community Full benefits package including all major insurance, 401k, and
